When Gibson unveiled the radical Flying V in 1958–59, it was considered too far ahead of its time — only a handful were built before the model was discontinued. Today, those originals are among the rarest and most valuable guitars on Earth.
This Custom Shop 1959 reissue in Sunburst captures that boundary-pushing spirit with unmatched detail: the sharp “V” body lines, Korina wood construction, and that unmistakable mid-century modern vibe. While the original was born in the late 50s, it became a defining weapon of rock in the hands of legends like Albert King and later inspired everyone from Hendrix to Hetfield.
